An update...

Hi everyone.  Can't believe it's been two months since I've posted.  I haven't even been to Pixel Scrapper since the middle of December!  I was preoccupied during the month of December with getting ready for Christmas with my family and friends (which was great), going to see Adam Lambert at a radio station concert in Cleveland (which was super fantastic), and with some charity work I was doing through a Facebook group (which was very fulfilling).  It took a toll on me physically and, during the first few weeks in January, I wasn't feeling well at all.  I've also been in a tremendous amount of pain, which always saps my creative energy.  I'm still dealing with the pain, as always, and also with extremely high blood pressure and a recurrent tumor I have on my right pointer finger is giving me fits.  It's hard to use the mouse for very long.

That all said, I am feeling the creative bug again and hope to get back in the swing of things in the next week or so.  I have to make it over to Pixel Scrapper to see what the blog train theme is for March but, whatever it is, I hope to contribute.  Don't give up on me!!!

I have to get better SOON!  I am going to go see Adam again, this time in full concert for his "The Original High" album, on March 10th in Nashville, Tennessee at the historic Ryman Auditorium.

I'm going to visit a friend who lives there and meet up with, at the last count, 32 of my sister and brother Glamberts from all over.  It's an 11 1/2 hr. bus ride each way but, since I cannot fly because of heart and lung issues, it's my only option.  Tolerating this bus ride is the only thing I'm concerned about, other than figuring out how to afford the trip!  I've been selling clothing I no longer wear, paper scrapbooking stuff, shoes, etc. on Facebook so I can afford to go.  So far so good.  I am so excited and absolutely cannot wait!  He's already been on the tour in the Far East, New Zealand, and just finished up in Australia.  The You Tube videos coming out of the shows are just amazing.  I wish I could have purchased a meet & greet option, but at $500, it's waaaaay out of my price range.  I haven't give up on the dream to some day meet him, though!  LOL  Okay, enough fan-girling for now.

Don't forget to stop back on the 1st of March to see what I come up with for the blog train.

Many blessings to you and yours,
Sally

Happy, Happy Thanksgiving Freebies!

Well, gals, my freebies have been MIA for a whole month...and I'm so sorry but my health issues took precedence for awhile.  What a rough Autumn I had!  However, I'm now back and you are all stuck with me!  LOL

First, I want to wish everyone who celebrates a Happy Thanksgiving.  For those in other countries who do not celebrate this US holiday, please join us in having a grateful and thankful heart tomorrow (and, hopefully, every day).  I am so thankful to be alive!

Secondly, I am re-releasing an old kit from 2006, plus an add-on from 2007.  I really like this kit, if I say so myself!  LOL

Here is Victorian Thanksgiving:

This is a layout I made from the kit way back in 2007.  The pictures are my niece, her husband and her two oldest kids.  These are the kids I just spent last Saturday with doing Christmas crafts and Taylor is the great-niece going to the Adam Lambert concert with me in 11 days!  Little Wes (Wesley III) is not so little anymore, but he told me he doesn't mind still being called by that name.  They sure have grown up!  Check out the post below this one for current pictures.

Did 'Ya Miss Me?!?

Can't believe it's been a month since I posted here...and I'm so sorry!  My health issues took precedence for a while.  I still feel guilty not having a share for November Pixel Scrapper's blog train, but I promise I'm making up for it with December's!  I just can't stop designing stuff for it and it's going to be HUGE even by my standards!  LOL

I hope all of you are having a wonderful start to the holidays.  I know I am!  This last Saturday, my niece, Denise, and my great-nieces, Taylor (11) and Jenna (7), and my great-nephew, Wes III (9), came over for a craft day.  It was so much fun!  We made Christmas crafts, ate pizza and chocolate chip cookies, took bunches of pictures and had a great time!  The girls LOVE to pose and have their pictures taken, but Wes and Mommy...not so much!  The kids are growing up too fast!  They sure wore this old woman out!

Here are some pictures I wanted to share:

Thanks, Denise, for coming over and bringing my greats.  I love you all so much and can't wait for Christmas!

Hope all of you, my faithful blog readers, are surrounded by love, family and friends during this holiday season!  Always remember to have a thankful heart for all you have.

Blessings to you and yours,
Sally

Thanks, a request, and I'm going to a concert...OH, MY!!

Hey there, everyone.  Just wanted to catch up and make a request of all you wonderful people.  First, thanks to everyone for the thanks on my latest kit!  Maggie, I'm really happy to know it brought back pleasant memories for you!  Holly , thanks for taking time to stop by and leave a comment.  Regarding those "actual instruments" you mentioned, I had almost an impossible task trying to find images of real instruments (not clip art) to use for "The Music of My Life" kit that were okay to use.  If any of you have an instrument around your household, I'd really appreciate it if you would consider taking a photograph of it against a solid background (like a wall or rug), sending it to me, and allowing me to use it for subsequent update kits.  I would be so very grateful and you'd then be able to scrap an actual page with your's or your kid's actual instrument!

I've decided to start, once again, selling a kit here or there to help with the financial end of acquiring images, programs, etc.  As most of you know, I'm on disability and Social Security only goes so far.  I've also decided the first kit I sell will be heritage and genealogy themed, as this has been requested a number of times.  Hopefully, this will happen in January or February.  Also, I had a request in the comments for the music kit to do a friendship theme and I think that would be a fantastic idea.  Not sure if it will be a freebie or a paid kit.  Thanks, JASPER1, not just for your suggestion, but for always leaving me a sweet comment.  Don't worry everyone, even if I do PTU kits, I'll never stop making FTU kits for all of you!  It gives me great pleasure.

Speaking of finances, I giving myself a Christmas gift this year!  On the 7th of December I'm going to a Cleveland radio station's holiday concert with my fave, the uber-talented Adam Lambert (and also Echosmith of "Cool Kids" fame).  My stented and bypassed, little heart is bursting with joy and anticipation.  I saw him back in 2011 right before I ended up in the nursing home.  It is a highlight of my concert-going past, and I've been to everything from high opera to heavy metal!  So few artists are as good in person as they are recorded...and Adam is even BETTER!  I've been a Glambert since the American Idol days back in 2009...in fact I'm officially Glambert #3945 so you know I was an early fan! LOL  It's a perfect logistical situation for me.  In December, as in 2009, he's performing at Playhouse Square.  The Greyhound bus station is only two blocks away and the hotel is right on the Square.  Makes wheelchair travel as easy as it could ever be!  Yippee! Well, I've gushed enough but I could go on and on!

Hope all of you are having a wonderful week.  I'm off now to try and put together something small for Pixel Scrapper's November blog train.  Yikes...I only have three or four days!

Blessings,
Sally

I hear music!!!!

Well, I finally hear the music around these parts!!!  I've finished "The Music of My Life" base kit at long last.  There's a bit of everything:  some more modern, some more vintage, hopefully something for everyone.  It's a huge one!  I'm almost finished with the first era/genre add-on kit...classical.  However, that will have to wait until I create my contribution to Pixel Scrapper's November blog train, Thankful Harvest.  I'm going back to my Victorian roots for that one.  The color palette is a real beauty.  Check it out:

I'd give you a preview, but first I have to design something!  Funny how that works.  LOL

BTW, on the TOU's for the music kit, you can see a REALLY old picture of me from my Freshman year of high school (1966-67).  I played violin in the orchestra.  Don't laugh now, we all get old sooner or later if we're lucky!  It's a scan of a partial paper-scrapped page that is part of an entire album I made about my high school, my family who also went there, the famous alumni, and President William McKinley who the school is named after.  You'll have to enlarge it to see it very well.  Oh, what the heck...here it is:

Okay, here are the previews for "The Music of My Life" base kit:

Here are some layouts for inspiration from my Flight Crew Member, Patti.  Her Aunt Lucille celebrated her 95th birthday last weekend!

Lucille likes to talk about how she still exercises and can put her foot up by her head.  I Photoshopped a special picture for Patti to give her that is a hoot, if I say so myself. Take a look:

Patti said everyone got a "real kick" out of it!  Pun intended...ROFLMBO.
